twisting scripture

It is sad to see how some bloggers take the bible and twist is to suit their own ends.  They justify their views by taking scripture out of context, or by using scripture that is not about the subject under discussion. They then find that someone who knows their bible really well manages to show them for what they are and when they are trapped they back off from the discussion or become downright rude and arrogant because they want to win the arguement, not give glory to God.  I now intervene and say things that are not direct attacks on people, but hopefully those who do not participate in the discussions, but read them will not be led astray by false teachers.

I mainly mean the discussion about women having authority over men in the church which Paul expressly forbids but people go to great lengths to try to make is say the opposite.
